We also help you know what to expect, and learn how life changes after the baby is born. The cost is only $20 for those families delivering at AMH. Tuesday, September 19Diabetes Class8:00 AM - 2:30 PMAMH Geneva Room The AMH Diabetes Connection will be
holding their monthly diabetes class
on Thursday, September 19 from 8 am to
2:30 pm in the Geneva Room at AMH.
Classes will focus on carbohydrate
counting and dietary management,
foot and skin care, exercise, the
emotional aspect of having diabetes,
self-monitoring blood glucose meters,
and how often to check glucose levels,
lifestyle hints to help control blood
sugar, how specific drug classes
prescribed for diabetes work, drug
side effects, and drug interactions.

Wednesday, October 11Nail Clinic and Foot Screens5:30-6:30 p.m.Geneva Room Free foot screenings will be provided by Dr. Michael Worpell of the Northeast Indiana Foot and Ankle Clinic. Also, a new service from Dr. Worpell is a Nail Clinic that offers nail care/trimming for seniors or others needing such assistance. The Nail Clinic has a charge of $25 (cash/check only).

Thursday, October 26Kid's Health Fair3:30-7 p.m.Berne Classroom Kids may receive a flu shot for $32 and then go Trick or Treating throughout the hospital. Adult flu shots also available for $32.

Thursday, Sept. 21Lunch and Learn Series11 a.m. - 1 p.m.Woodcrest Dining Hall This discussion led by Keith Huffman, an attorney from the Dale, Huffman & Babcock law firm of Bluffton will discuss Estate Planning, Elder Law, and Advanced Directives. Monday, October 9Mammography Night4-7 p.m.AMH Radiology Dept. A special night for women who have never had a mammogram done at AMH or for those women whose last mammogram has been more than five years ago.
AMH has received a grant from the Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust to provide free screenings to women in our area who meet financial criteria--ask about the grant when you schedule your mammogram.
Mini-massages, pampering, and snacks will be available at this night as well.

Starts Oct. 3, 2017EMS Class to be OfferedAMH A basic life support EMT class will be held at AMH starting October 3 and running through mid-April, 2018. Instructor for the class is Kent Hart, EMT-P.

Cost of the class is $700 with $200 due the first night of class.

Tuesday, Nov. 7Senior Program at Woodcrest11 a.m. - 1 p.m.Adams Woodcrest Dining Hall AMH and Adams Woodcrest will be hosting a special class on Tuesday, Nov. 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Adams Woodcrest Dining Hall on the topic of "Being Mortal (End of Life Situations and Advance Care Planning Through Honoring Choices)."
Those attending will be treated to a free lunch.
Speakers include attorney Keith Huffman, physician Bernie Wiebe of Family Life Care, and Katie Hougham, Advance Care Planning Coordinator with Aging and In-Home Services.
