Our direct access lab testing allows you to order your own laboratory tests when you want them at an affordable price and without a physician’s order.
Frequently Asked Questions
A. The following common laboratory tests require that you do not eat or drink for 10-12 hours prior to having your blood drawn: Comprehensive Metabolic Profile, Basic Metabolic Profile, Chem 7, Glucose, Renal Function Panel, Lipid Profile and Vitamin B12.
A. A few sips of water are fine. Check with your physician to see if you should continue taking your medicine while you are fasting.
A. You may choose to go to either the AMH Lab or the Berne Convenience Clinic. Bring your driver’s license and your insurance card with you. Register for services at the patient registration area, then proceed to the laboratory window. The laboratory staff will call your name when it is your turn to have your blood drawn.
A. If you are coming to the lab during regular outpatient hours, no appointment is needed. An appointment is needed if you would like to be drawn outside of our regular outpatient hours or have the following tests ordered: Paternity Test, Bleeding Time/PFA100.
A. We send laboratory test results are sent to your physician. Most results are available within one to two days. Very specialized or complex tests may take up to a week or more to complete. Please contact your physician to discuss your test results.
